Sig Sauer P250

The Sig P250 is one of Sig Sauer’s first polymer frame pistols. The P250 is a hammer-fired, double action only (DAO) weapon chambered in either 9mm, 40 S&W, 45 acp and of course 357 SIG. The Sig P250 comes in three sizes: Full Size, Compact and Sub-compact. Well, what actually makes the P250 different is that it can be converted to any of these sizes.

The only actual serialized portion of the weapon is the fire control group, which can be taken out and swapped between different frame, slide, and barrel configurations. Not only that, but the weapon’s caliber can be converted. So, say you have the full size .45… you can convert it to a compact 9mm in about 2 minutes.

The quality is pure Sig: the sights are awesome, the grip and ergonomics are terrific. The weapon lacks a manual safety, which is a plus for carry guns, in my opinion. The only downside to the weapon is its DAO trigger. The trigger pull is quite long, but it’s also very smooth and has a crisp break. Accuracy is superb – the large sights and ergonomics make up for the long trigger pull.

The Sig Sauer P250 is an excellent design, and quite innovative. The variety of configurations means you have a size and caliber for any use, without having to change the pistol’s ergonomics or handling. You can’t beat a feature like that.
