AMT Hardballer

You will be HARD-PRESSED to come up with a better name for a handgun than HARDBALLER. The AMT Hardballer was manufactured by the now-defunct Arcadia Machine & Tool Co. from 1977-2002. The Hardballer was a clone of the Colt 1911, but has the distinction of being the first entirely stainless steel 1911 pattern pistol. The one pictured here has a 5″ barrel, although they also made a “Longslide” version with a 7″ barrel. A modified Hardballer Longslide was used by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the iconic 1984 movie, The Terminator. The pistol came in various calibers but shown here is the most common .45 ACP. This particular pistol also has Pachmayr wood/rubber grips. These pistols are becoming more collectible, although for now you can still find ones under $1,000. A great deal for a great-looking, heavy, classic 1911 pistol.
