This is a S&W 29-2 in nickel finish with an 8-3/8″ barrel, made circa 1977. The 29-2 model is a .44 magnum caliber revolver manufactured by Smith & Wesson for approximately 20 years, starting in 1961. It is the 3rd iteration of the S&W model 29, after the 29 “no dash” and the 29-1. In addition to making it look absolutely gorgeous, the mirror-like nickel finish protects the handgun from corrosion. While the 29 will forever be known as the “Dirty Harry” gun, it is beloved by gun enthusiasts for it’s classic lines, power, and flexibility to shoot magnum rounds as well as the less-felt-recoil .44 special round. The 8-3/8″ barrel makes for a difficult carry gun, but the 29 comes in a variety of lengths to fit every occasion. This particular gun has factory walnut grips and the original presentation case with tools. Current prices for a 29-2 with a configuration like this range from $2500-$3000, depending on condition.
