Well I think we finally found the best handgun… for the year 1840, that is…! This is a Belgian-made “Pepperbox” in the rare 8-barrel configuration. There are also 4, 5 and 6 barrel versions. 36 caliber cap & ball; barrels are 2-3/4″ long. Percussion revolving pistol with ring trigger. Gorgeous Damascus steel barrels (you can see better in 2nd photo) numbered 1 through 8, engraved frame, black ebony wood grips. Would love to give a report on how she shoots, but haven’t attempted (and probably won’t)…! Amazing design and style from 175 years ago.
