There are plenty of 1911-style pistols out there. And in a variety of calibers, even .380 ACP like this Sig. What we have here is a 1911-style pistol from Citadel in 9mm. What makes this one special is the cerakote finish they call “American Flag Battleworn Gray.” In addition to looking cool, the coating is actually durable and prevents corrosion.
As with most 1911s, this pistol features an ambidextrous thumb safety and also an extended beavertail grip safety. Shooting 9mm ammo with this gun is a pleasure. The weight of the all-steel frame and slide – the gun weighs almost 2-1/2 lbs. unloaded – makes recoil almost nonexistent. It also affords better accuracy on follow-up shots.
This is a good candidate for a beginner who wants a classic-styled handgun with a little bit of flair. It’s a bit heavy for concealed carry, but is doable with the right holster.
